Earnings Per Share (EPS)

EPS is the amount of profit that a company makes in a specific period – like a quarter or a year – split over the total number of shares the company has. For example, if company XYZ had profits of $100 and 1,000 shares outstanding, its EPS would be $0.10 ($100/$1,000).
